This beautiful, mid-century modern home in the heart of the historic district was built in 1966 and was previously selected for the American Institute of Architect’s Home Tour. The client needed a complete overhaul of the “social center of their home”, transcending their dark and dated kitchen into a family-friendly, open floorplan with an abundance of light and storage - all in keeping with the home’s architectural integrity. Our AWARD WINNING design provided this family with a wonderfully functional living space by reconfiguring the overall layout, removing internal walls, increasing the kitchen ceiling height, adding oversized picture and accordion windows, incorporating a pantry and bar (where neither existed previously), creating a family workspace, and providing their fireplace with a facelift while preserving some of the existing architectural elements.
