We removed a raised peninsula bar and added a freestanding island. We also extended the cabinets into the breakfast room to serve as a bar with  wine cooler and ice maker, and glass doors for bottle storage. Finally, we opened the kitchen to the dining room with a pass thru counter for convenient serving.
