About Michael

Michael Maszaros is the owner and principal design of Cabin Creek Interiors, a full-service interior design firm handling both commercial and residential interior design, specifications, furnishings, and project management.  Michael was born in Manakin-Sabot in Goochland County west of Richmond and attended UVA where he tried to escape his family history of design by studying to be an eye surgeon.  After working in the hospital and realizing how much his surroundings affected both mood and motivation, he left medicine to go back to design. He took over Cabin Creek Interiors in 2012 and expanded their offering to full-service design.  With over 20 years of experience in Interior Design, he loves any challenge you can throw at him. Michael loves the arts and serves on the board of the Virginia Opera and Swift Creek Mill Theatre.  He also teaches interior decorating certification at the University of Richmond in their Continuing Education Program.  In his spare time (whatever that may be) he enjoys entertaining, cocktail parties, and socializing along with his partner Andrew and their two black cats Cosmic Creepers and Astaroth.
