About Krista

My name is Krista Boersma and my company is Fusion Interior Design, Inc. located in Chicago, Illinois. It's just myself. I am a small, hands on, full service interior design firm that does a mixture of residential, commercial, restaurant and hospitality design, working on all different sized projects. I have worked on projects throughout Illinois, the United States and even have completed some international work as well. I have my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. I am an NCIDQ certificate holder, a registered State of Illinois certified interior designer and have been a professional interior designer for 29 years. My professional career began in hospitality design, where I worked on numerous hotels and resorts throughout the USA. I then expanded my professional design experience working in the fields of residential, commercial and restaurant design. I always knew I wanted to start my own design firm, so in 2001, I started Fusion Interior Design Inc. which has been in business now for over 23 years, working on a mixture of projects within all of these fields of design. After our conversation, typically how I begin is to schedule a walk-through of your project, so that you can meet me to see if you'd be interested in hiring me, to obtain a better visual understanding of the layout and existing conditions, discuss your project in further detail in order to prepare a "scope of services" for your project (basically the tasks that I would be involved in from design to implementation) with my estimated professional design hours and fee for that scope.
